“Voices of Resilience” is a moving exploration of the lives touched by EMHIP (Ethnicity and Mental Health Improvement Project), sharing personal stories of struggle, healing, and the power of community. This documentary shines a light on the vital work EMHIP is doing to support Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) individuals in their mental health journey, offering a culturally sensitive space for growth, understanding, and empowerment.
My Role
For this project, I had the honor of being deeply involved in all stages of its creation. During pre-production, I collaborated closely with the team to shape the narrative, conduct research, and plan our visual storytelling approach. As the Director of Photography, I strived to capture the raw, authentic moments of each participant—using light, composition, and movement to visually amplify their stories of resilience and hope.
In post-production, I managed the complete editing process—crafting each scene to ensure an emotional flow that connects with audiences on a profound level. I also handled the color grading, working to create a look that not only complements the storytelling but evokes warmth, intimacy, and a sense of humanity throughout.
This project was an immersive experience in visual storytelling—one that I am immensely proud to have been part of, highlighting voices that deserve to be heard and celebrating the strength of those who have overcome, supported, and grown together.
